Foster Youth 411 is truly a community collaboration; without community partners, this resource would be obsolete.  This is why we have included this section to spotlight our community partners and the invaluable work they are doing on behalf of our community’s children, youth and families.

The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education works to expand access and increase success in postsecondary education for Arizona citizens through:

  • Increasing available student financial assistance
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to help students and families plan, enter, and succeed in postsecondary ed
  • Provide a forum for all sectors of postsecondary education to dialogue, partner, and problem solve issues of mutual interest

Casey Family Programs works to provide and improve - and ultimately prevent the need for - foster care.  The organization provides nonpartisan research so that child welfare professionals and lawmakers can make informed decisions based on data and evidence.

In Arizona, Casey Family Programs provides comprehensive services in foster and kinship care to Maricopa County—whose 3 million residents make up half of the state’s population.

Childhelp® exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. We focus our efforts on advocacy, prevention, treatment and community outreach.  Childhelp also runs the Arizona Child Abuse Info Center, a website with information, resources, and statistics regarding child abuse and neglect in Arizona and nationally.

Children's Action Alliance (CAA) works toward a future in which all children have health insurance, no child is raised in poverty and hunger, every child enters school ready to learn and succeed, no child endures the ravages of abuse and neglect, every child has a place to call home, and struggling teens have the support they need to become responsible adults.

The Arizona Department of Economic Security works to ensure that every child, adult, and family is safe and economically secure.  DES has created a website with resources for teens and foster youth/alumni; another great website providing assistance!

Child Protective Services is a department within DES, which has a committee called Community Partnerships.  The Community Partnerships committee is comprised of community organizations and partners that make resources known.  Community Partnerships, specifically the Gaps in Services sub-committee, was instrumental in finding the resources for this website and creating the Teen Resource Guide.
